-Our products are made with no toxic materials or processes, unlike petroleum-based plastics.
-Our bags are more environmentally friendly than paper bags which promote deforestation.
-Our products withstand temperatures up to 248 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning that hot foods can be served or microwaved in them, without leaching any toxins into your food.
-Our bags, bowls, spoons, knifes, forks, are not brittle, handles temperatures to 248 degrees F., and are biodegradable.
-Producing Bioplastic uses 65% less energy than conventional plastic.
-UMG Products are good from the freezer to the microwave.
-UMG Products perform better than pure PLA (which melts at 114 degrees F.), where all UMG products are good to 248 degrees F.
-UMG cost less than other traditional bioplastics.
-All UMG products have passed biodegradability & aerobic composting process: ASTM D 6954-99 & ISO 14855-1:2005(e).

Unified Management Group, LLC believes that replacing toxic materials with sustainable, biodegradable materials is a good step in the right direction, on many levels. We provide an alternative to the entrenched problem of wasteful food containers and plastic bags.
If you operate a food service establishment, whether in a large corporate campus, restaurant, hotel, resort or grocery store there is something you can do today by using our products as a gesture that shows that you too care about making changes for the better, however nominal they may seem.
Together the sum of our incremental changes can alter the course of destiny, to where sustainability and ecological responsibility is neither a task nor a burden – it is the way for everyone on the planet to contribute to their own well being and that of each other (what we ultimately all depend on).

UMG products use Non-GMO (certified) corn
UMG products cost less than other traditional bioplastics
We hold a unique position in the industry. UMG uses the only US brand of off shore produced products that take PLA (Poly lactic acid) and mix it with cornstarch and other ingredients to make a fully biodegradable product line of cutlery, food containers, and bags. Our blend enables us to offer the best of both worlds: an innovative formulation that is Earth-friendly without the extreme costs associated with blends that use synthetic or non-corn starch based fillers (the over 50% corn starch in our blend helps us hold costs down which enables us to compete more readily with traditional plastics, particularly in the disposable food container industry). All products are made from a renewable resource, which means it has a big leg up—both politically and environmentally—on conventional plastic packaging, which uses an estimated 200,000 barrels of oil a day in the United States. Also, PLA is in principle compostable, meaning that it will break down under certain conditions into harmless natural compounds. That could take pressure off the nation’s mounting landfills. Plastics already take up 25 percent of dumps by volume.
1.Do you know of others who use your bags for non-food items?
Yes – our factory supplies bags worldwide for a variety of applications including dry cleaning, shopping, packing, etc.
2.Product strength- Will it handle stacking and rough packing?
Corn plastic (PLA) bags are naturally able to stretch more than polyethylene bags and resist tearing and puncturing.
3.How do you seal bags?
They can be heat sealed using conventional heat-sealing equipment.
4.Do you use varying mil thickness for strength?
We can go as thin as 1/2 mil and as heavy as need be
1.Longevity, shelf life?
No issues as long as the bags are not in direct UV light.
2.Will humidity have an adverse affect?
No.
3.Availability? Can we order large numbers?
Up to 100 million/year.
4.Cost fluctuations, are they tied directly to corn?
The cost of corn polymers is only marginally affected by the price of corn since over 95% of the price is in the value add (manufacturing). There is a shortage of corn polymers and therefore we can guarantee prices for 6 months only, unless larger orders are placed whereas we can negotiate a 12-month fixed price.
5.Cost comparison with poly bags?.
We are about 30% more expensive, depending on many variables (quantity, etc.). However this can come down to less than $.005 per bag in many instances.
